Supervision Training, why do I need that?

You already deliver supervision to your colleagues or team but...

  • You've never had formal training or it's a long time since you did
  • You completed student supervisor training but different issues come up for staff
  • You realise you need a different approach for qualified and support staff
  • You feel exhausted by the end of the supervision session, often revisiting the same conversations
  • You know you don't need to 'FIX' things but you leave sessions feeling like you should or you are
  • You find difficult conversations hard to navigate so either avoid them or feel like you fumbled them
  • It feels like a tick box experience, rushing through but not really focused on professional or personal growth
  • You're not sure on how to separate out the managerial and professional supervision within the session, it all becomes blurred
  • Tools for supervision, what are they?

SOUND FAMILIAR, THEN YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE.

IT'S TIME TO UP SKILL

How good would it be to feel to be confident in your supervisions skills?

  • To use skills and tools that are evidence based for use in supervision sessions
  • To feel confident in delivering sessions that focus on professional and personal development in the context of your organisation
  • To know your sessions are developing therapist clinical reasoning and decision making skills not just ticking a box
  • To support therapist in developing their own confidence and skills
  • To be comfortable navigating difficult conversations
  • Have procedures in place to manage and resolve conflict
  • To come out of sessions feeling energised and positive

What other therapists say...

💬 I used to shy away from those tricky conversations but now I feel comfortable having them early on

Maybe it was just me, but sometimes I just didn't know how to start the conversation. I might let a situation play out and wait to see if I really needed to speak up and address it.

Now I realise that through working on the supervisory relationships, there is more openness and trust, so bringing up those tricky points in a early exploratory conversation is actually so much easier than dealing with the fallout when I've let things go unsaid.

💬 It's so good to have someone to share this with

I've been doing supervision for years, I was even the team lead prior to this. Now, I am offering external supervision and having support to look at my supervision style, to understand my role, to explore new tools to use in sessions has been amazing.

Knowing I can bring real supervision situation and discuss them with Lynsay has really built my confidence.

Hi, I'm Lynsay

I have been a practicing occupational therapist for 30 years and still love it. But I won't lie, over those years, I have experienced a range of supervision and in my early career probably delivered supervision that could have been better.

I have undertaken post graduate study, I have created a long arm model of OT supervision and importantly I continue to deliver both 1:1 and group supervision for individuals and teams. I am also a supervisee, engaging in the supervision process.

So that is why I am sharing with you my Basics to Brilliance training, so you can feel confident in your supervision skills, you understand what good supervision can look like and you have the tools to deliver it.

💬 I've never had mentorship on my supervision skills before, what a game changer!

Working with Lynsay has been so brilliant, in all my years as a supervisor, I have never had bespoke mentorship for my supervision skills. Now I wouldn't be without it.

💬 Supervision models, I didn't know that was a thing.

In this world of evidence based practice, I have never used a supervision model before, I always just did what I've done based on the supervision I had received.

Now I can look and see why a model of supervision is helpful, it grounds my practice in evidence, tools and brings skills that make me an effective supervisor.
