Hi, and welcome to the OT Supervision podcast. Pull up a chair, grab a cuppa, and let's chat. My name's Lindsay. I'm an OT supervisor, and I am here to share with you my passion for OT supervision. I have been an occupational therapist for over 30 years, and in that time I have delivered supervision and engaged in supervision. It is the cornerstone of our career, but...

I also recognise that it's not a sexy topic; it is not something that people necessarily give a massive amount of attention to; it can often be seen as something that we just do. But I want to take this opportunity and through these OT conversations, share with you that supervision can be much more than that. So if you haven't guessed already, I'm a super nerd when it comes to occupational therapy and OT supervision.

 and I really want to bring something to you in short episodes that you can take away and put into your own practice. But enough about that for now, who am I? So yes, as I've said, I'm Lindsay. I am an occupational therapist. I am originally trained in Edinburgh and Scotland a long time ago, and now I am London based. I am a mum, a mum of two Kidults, as we call them, so adult kids.

 and I have a crazy black Labrador and a lovely husband who puts up with all of my various passion projects that I do next. I am also one of eight children and I am the youngest of eight so I am used to talking and talking loud and talking again and again to be heard. So I am very happy to be here and bringing this podcast to you.

 Now I've been sitting on this idea of an OT Supervision podcast for a long time and I finally got out of my own way to come and sit with you today and introduce this as a topic. I don't want you to feel that this is going to be like teaching and training because that's not the idea, but I will be completely honest. This first series of the podcast will be solo episodes. And my whole idea is that essentially you do

 pull up a chair, grab a cuppa and just chat. They're going to be short, they're going to be informative and really I want to give you something you can ponder on that you could take back into your own practice. They're not lectures, it's not training. My idea for the next season will be to have OTs come and chat with me. I love having a conversation with occupational therapists,

 any interesting conversations that we can have along the way about people's careers and really from my perspective where supervision has influenced their careers. So that will be season two. So if you're sitting there going, I would quite like to chat with you, Lindsay, then send me a message. I would love to hear from you and see what we can do about the next season. I'm really looking forward to chatting with some OTs.
